App Design

Nubi is a hybrid mobile application with one simple goal: help Brazilian new-comers to Vancouver to find everything that this wonderful city has offer in one single platform. From Airport information, transportation, living, restaurants to specific services around the Brazilian Community.

Problem

The number of Brazilians visiting Vancouver each year is increasing in a consistent way. Tourists and many immigrants choose to live here due to city's beautiful nature and mild weather. For them it's not always easy to have quality information and references for specific needs and services.

User Research

We interviewed a two group of Brazilians: One group of people currently living in Vancouver and a second group which where Brazilians that were still in South America but with plans to come to Vancouver in a near future. This group division facilitated the understanding of the core needs of the audience according to their goals and level of familiarity of Vancouver community.

Findings

The results of the interviews were clearly defined by the nature of the goals each group had. The group already living in Vancouver had the same difficulties: find reliable information and services in a unique platform.

The second group presented a different need within the necessity of information. A guide for new-commers to properly set up life in Vancouver with basic categories from living options to documentation.

Solution

To solve the problem, we organized the content with multiple categories to attend both segments of the audience. Each segment would be able to access different part of the same content but tailored for their necessities. The  information architecture was key for defining proper labelling and to connect sections.

Clean interface and easy to navigate menu makes the experience more intuitive, icons were used in shallow levels of the content and images in deeper pages of the structure.
